Year of the bus
During the Autumn of 2014 through to Spring 2015 I was involved in another Wild In Art project: The Year of the Bus, supported by Transport for London. I ended up having three designs selected to be part of several sculpture trails around London.
My first bus sculpture 'Tower Bridge' was exhibited in some high profile locations around the city: Trafalgar Square, The River Thames (with views of the real Tower Bridge!) and at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.
My second bus 'The Flower Fairies Bus' was housed within the Whitgift Shopping Centre in Croydon (home of the creator of The Flower Fairies) and also ended up on display at the Olympic Park.
Finally I was involved with the design and painting of the 60th bus 'Icon Bus' which was painted in front of over 15,000 people in one weekend at the Olympic Park! I was joined by two other artists: Mandii Pope and Jenny Grover.
All 60 buses were auctioned off by Chrisities and raised £100,000 for various charities with icon Bus raising £5,000 alone!
